The family of Clinton “Three” Johnson III, who was killed in Cedar Grove last month, has scheduled a “Justice for Three” rally Friday in Shreveport.

The event is slated for 6 p.m. at Apostle Jerry Samuels’ Spectrum Church, located at 7420 St. Vincent Avenue. An offering will be taken up and donated to Crime Stoppers.

“We enforce Jesus in our household and w,e want the rally to bring assurance for the soul,” said Clinton’s mother, Sharon Johnson. “God’s greatest gift is love. If we all love each other, it will become contagious.”

TEENAGER DEATH: Clinton Johnson killed in shooting

Clinton Johnson was slated to be the starting point guard on the Woodlawn basketball team this winter but was shot near his home not long after leaving basketball practice.

According to police, Johnson was riding a motorbike in the 700 block of Turner Lane, not far from Caddo Middle Magnet, when someone in an SUV pulled up and shot him multiple times. Johnson was transported to Oschner LSU Health Shreveport where he died.

Johnson played sparingly last year as a freshman for the Knights, who won the District 1-4A title. His role would have expanded this year after last year’s point guard transferred to another Shreveport school.
