23rd Judicial District reports guilty pleas for March 11-15

The 23rd Judicial District Attorney's Office, which includes the parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James, reported guilty pleas during the week of March 11-15.

  1. Austin Cooley, 1475 Hwy 49 E Hattiesburg, MS, age 32, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Michael Blair, 39454 Hwy 74 Gonzales, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property (2 counts) and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  3. Jordan Debate, 44239 Calvin Templet Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 7 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Deiondra Joseph, 301 Assumption St. Napoleonville, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Monetary Instrument Abuse and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  5. Jammie Baker, 1206 Peytavin St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Disarming a Peace Officer and Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  6. Henry Bougere, 37287 Hwy 22 Darrow, LA, age 45, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  7. Trent Carter, 301 Claiborne St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  8. Jesse Cowart, 2228 South Burnside Ave Gonzales, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Battery of a Dating Partner Intentionally Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  9. Robert Culpepper, 13386 Orleans Dr. Gonzales, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Obstruction of Justice and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  10. George Fairbanks, 11016 George Lambert Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Home Improvement Fraud and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  11. Haley Gautreau, 2138 Commerce Ave Gonzales, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  12. Artneisha Lee, 24741 Huey St. Plaquemine, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  13. Matthew Paschal, 14044 Troy Duplessis Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  14. Gina Sanchez, 25900 Kendalwood Rd. Baton Rouge, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and DWI 2nd The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  15. Ivan Scioneaux, 35516 Preston Lane Donaldsonville, LA, age 53, pled guilty to Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and Illegal Use of Weapons. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  16. India Soule, 415 East Hamilton St. Gonzales, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Battery of a Police Officer (2 counts) and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  17. Mercedes Martin, 41270 Merritt Evans Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 29, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Leila Braswell and Kristin Tregre. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Jonathan Lopez, 1157 Orange Blossom Lane Gretna, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Hector Barahona, 2322 Lapeyrousse St. New Orleans, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Jude Metrejean, 3203 Hwy 70 Lot E Pierre Part, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Norman Escalate-Guidel, 549 Dunbar Place Gretna, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Brayan Chinchilla-Pacheco, 1149 Tallow Tree Lane Harvey, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  6. Erin Smith, 833 Grangerville Rd. Bell City, LA, age 42, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge James Kuhn.

St. James Parish:

  1. Lendaz Walters Jr., 3744 Brandy Ln. Paulina, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Timothy Granier, 2820 Hwy 44 Paulina, LA, age 54, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Luke Oneal, 506 Amaryllis Ct. LaPlace, LA, age 56, pled guilty to Residential Contractor Fraud and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  4. Tyrese Davis, 1566 E 2nd Gramercy, LA, age 24, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
