Casting notices posted for Michael B. Jordan movie filming in Donaldsonville

A casting company has advertised for extras in the upcoming Michael B. Jordan movie, which will be set in Donaldsonville and other locations throughout the New Orleans area.

Caballero Casting LLC has been posting available gigs to its Facebook page for the "Grilled Cheese" project, which will be directed by Jordan's frequent collaborator, Ryan Coogler.

The duo is well-known for "Black Panther" and "Creed."

Preparations have started for a movie slated to be filmed along Railroad Avenue in the Donaldsonville historict district.

As previously announced by Donaldsonville Mayor Leroy Sullivan, the movie crew has set up along Railroad Avenue in the city's historic downtown area, as filming has been expected to gear up over the upcoming weeks.

In addition to Ascension Parish's seat, the movie set in the 1930s will be filmed in New Orleans, Belle Chasse, St. Bernard, Braithwaite, Tickfaw, Hammond, Napoleonville and Thibodaux, according to a casting post.

Donaldsonville has been the backdrop for several movies in recent decades, including "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Bonnie & Clyde" and "We Have a Ghost."
