Ribbon-cutting ceremony held for new kayak launch in Gonzales

The City of Gonzales and Leadership Ascension's YakPak team and sponsors celebrated the opening of the new kayak launch at Jambalaya Park.

According to the city's social media post on the ribbon-cutting ceremony, citizens can now rent a kayak from a self-serve kiosk located behind the pool at the park.

Kayakers have access to Bayou Francois through the new launch area.

As reported nearly two years ago, a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremonial marked the beginning of construction of the ADA-accessible launch.
